Religious Education

At St Andrews Primary School, we work in partnership with parents and the parish to provide children with education in the Catholic faith.

As part of the Parramatta Diocese we follow the syllabus for Religious Education, which contains units of study appropriate to each grade and stage, many of which are linked to the church's liturgical year and cycle. Within these units, students are given the opportunity to gain essential knowledge about the Catholic faith and explore a variety of ways in which this can be expressed, allowing all learners to engage in activities that both support and develop their strengths and learning styles.

Throughout each year, the students are involved in many class, grade and whole school liturgies in which we celebrate our faith. We support the religious formation of our students by working with the parish team when our students are involved in the reception of Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and Eucharist.

At St Andrews, we live out our mission to the poor and give students and families the opportunity to be involved in reaching out to those in need through charitable donations of food, and fundraising for a number of charities and causes.

We believe that St Andrews Primary enables all students to develop their understanding of the Catholic faith, follow Gospel values and display true growth in Christ.
