Sports carnivals


  • Swimming carnival

    The swimming carnival is held in Term 1. Students from Years 3–6 participate. Those students in Year 2 who turn eight in the calendar year and can competently swim 50 metres, also attend. Novelty events are provided to cater for beginner swimmers.

  • Cross country

    The cross country is held during Term 1. Students undergo some training in the weeks leading up to this event by building on the distance they run. The cross country is held on a school day, and students from Years 3–6, as well as Year 2 students who turn eight in that calendar year, participate in this event.

  • Primary athletics carnival

    Primary students and those Year 2 students who turn eight in that calendar year, participate in the athletics carnival. The students all participate in a running event, with some also nominating to compete in longer distance races or field events, such as high jump, long jump, discus and shot put.

  • Infants athletics carnival

    This carnival is held in Term 3 and involves all children from K–2. There is a marching competition, many novelty games and running races. The carnival is held on the school grounds and is a fun day for all involved.


In each of these areas, selected students have the opportunity to compete against other schools at the zone carnival.
