Our school Makerspace is an area that allows for creativity and innovation to occur.
In our Makerspace students have the chance to design, create, engineer, build and collaborate. It is a place to tinker, try new ideas, solve problems and build resilience using both high tech and low tech items.
Did you know Makerspace promotes learning through play? Students play, explore and experience informal learning opportunities. Connections between home, school and our community are developed.
Some of the activities we have done in Makerspace so far this year include:
- Lego Station - An area to use your imagination and complete Lego challenges.
- Code Club - Here students learn block code by using blue-bots, ozobots, Spheros and Code.org. Learning and challenges start easy but become much much harder.
- Knitting Club - Learn how to knit. Students learn the basics and develop a skill they will keep for life.
- Stop Motion Animation - Create your own movie just like Wallace and Grommet.
- Principal's Challenge - Mr Tonnet has devised a series of challenges which will test your ingenuity, creativity, resilience and collaboration skills.
- Art and Craft - Have fun and learn how to make things using materials you would have around the house.
Both infants and primary get invited to Makerspace sessions. It is amazing to see the growth in creativity resilience and skills.

Year 2 had an action-packed day at Plough and Harrow Parklands, exploring the science of pushes and pulls with Ranger Jamie! Students investigated forces through exciting hands-on activities, including racing billy carts, making slime, launching paper rockets and experimenting with soda water bags. It was a wonderful day filled with curiosity, teamwork, scientific thinking and plenty of fun! πππ§ͺ A big thank you to Ranger Jamie for bringing our learning to life!18 Sep 2026

π When one school pet just isnβt enoughβ¦ Our Year 2 students were doing their very best to persuade Mrs Bond that having just one school pet would simply not be enough. π°ππΉπ’ Apparently, what we really need is a whole school farm! πΎπ Mrs Bond is now wondering how a conversation about one pet somehow turned into plans for an entire animal kingdom! π€¦ββοΈπ€£πππΎ

π Kindergarten Liturgy of the Word π Our Kindergarten students celebrated their Liturgy of the Word, led by Father Kevin, reflecting on what it means to be part of Godβs family and βthe Church.β ππ Our students participated beautifully through prayer, Scripture, song and reflection, sharing the message of loving like Jesus did and caring for others. We are pleased to welcome our next guest in the Bishop Vincent Presents series, Kim Daniels, on the topic 'AI, Pope Leo and the future of human dignityβ. Kim Daniels is one of the Churchβs foremost experts on Catholic Social Thought and its importance in the age of artificial intelligence. A lawyer by training, she served for 10 years as a member of the Vatican Dicastery for Communication until 2026, and during the Synod on Synodality from 2021-2024 was an expert participant and coordinator of the study group that focused on the Churchβs mission in the digital age.
