Riley from KB choosing a book to borrow
The new Kindergarten children have settled into school life here at St Andrew's Primary.
They have been coming to the library for several weeks now and enjoy perusing the shelves for 'literary treasures' to borrow.
Each week they listen to a story and then borrow a book to share with their family.
They are remembering their library bags and books each Friday, which is great!

Last Wednesday SAPS held our 2024 Book Week Parade. An awesome time was had by all! It was fantastic to see so our students dressed up in so many amazing costumes relating to their favourite book characters!

Hundreds of students, parents and carers, teachers and clergy from Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Parramatta gathered for the 2024 Education Mass to celebrate our schoolsβ commitment to Faith in Action and their positive engagement in the community.

πYear 6 Spirituality Dayπ On Friday, August 16, team members from Catholic Youth Parramatta (CYP), S.A.Y.W.A.T. members from the parish and some S.A.C. Year 10 students spent the day leading Year 6 students through a special and spiritual day in the Hall. The day was centred around our theme for this year, Prayer Power ππͺ Students got the opportunity to share their own reflective thoughts and experiences, play team building games, participate in Scripture presentations and spend time in prayer, song and adoration π

St Andrew's Primary students recently won a $10,000 grant for our great work in sustainable practices! Students have been collecting recyclable containers and using the money to donate to local charities to help people in our community. What started as a Year 6 leadership initiative has now gone school-wide! We were able to put our grant money towards the new playground markings to help our students build a sense of belonging and to have fun playing with their friends.

Last Friday St Andrew's held our own mini Olympics! You can see the livestream of our opening ceremony below. Students competed in some very gruelling sports that included: Basketball throws, soccer, egg and spoon races, various relay races, bean bag throw and catch, plus more! Each Students competed for their respective Continent of the Olympic Rings. Oceania won our Olympics. You can see the overall scores and find out more in the upcoming newsletter!
