On Tuesday the 30th of October, at St Andrew's Primary School, all staff and students, along with Bishop Vincent, Monsignor Ron McFarlane, the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Mayor Stephen Bali and Member of Parliament Kevin Conolly gathered for the official opening and blessing of the Stage 2 Building.
The Sister Josita Learning Space is named after a former Principal and much-loved, highly respected member of the Parish community who sadly passed away last year.
This was a much anticipated, long awaited event bringing to a close an extensive period of planning and construction.
Students have been thriving in the new agile spaces during this year and have further developed their skills in cooperation, collaboration and communication within spaces designed to promote curiosity and deep learning.
Greg Whitby, Executive Director of Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta said "a building is only as good as what happens in it".
Acting Principal Kim McDonald described Sr Josita as a kind, friendly and caring person. "[She] spoke with people and was a good listener. She was an inspiration to others, enjoyed decorating sacred spaces, loved nature and classical music and most of all was faith filled and prayerful. With those qualities it was most fitting that our learning space be named after Sr Josita.
We're looking forward to continuing our learning in this new agile space.

On Friday 23rd of May…our wonderful St Andrew’s VSM Teacher Team🤝(Vinnies Sandwich Making) were busy after school, preparing hundreds of sandwiches 🥪 that were then delivered to St Vincent de Paul Society. All the sandwiches made will go out that night, to support the Vinnies Van Services for the Sydney Night Patrol, which aim to provide companionship, compassion and hope for those they serve. The afternoon was a great success 🤩 for our St Andrew's staff to come together, and actively model our school motto “Growth in Christ:” working together in solidarity to reach out to those in our community experiencing hardship. Thank you again 🙏 to ALL the volunteers of the VSM Teacher Team☺️25 May 2025

To OUR wonderful community of St Andrew's... Check out how our students and staff, at St Andrew's Primary, live out the motto "🙆♀️>Growth in Christ<🙏" with our HEADS 🥰, HEARTS 🩷 & HANDS🤲. On the 14th of May, 15 members of our Faith In Action Team were blessed to participate in the Lifted Live event, organised by Catholic Youth Parramatta for the schools in our Diocese. The theme today was the message of hope. All the teachers are extremely proud of the way these FIAT members represented our school, showing respect and enthusiastic participation!
