πβοΈ Year 1 Scientists Exploring Shadows! βοΈπ
Today, our Year 1 students became scientists as they investigated shadows and the movement of the Sun through hands-on inquiry learning. Using chalk, students traced their shadows before midday and then returned after 1pm to observe and compare how the size and direction of their shadows changed throughout the day.
Through this investigation, students explored how the Sunβs position in the sky changes during the day and affects the length and direction of shadows, helping deepen their understanding of Earthβs relationship with the Sun and how our planet experiences day and night.
There was so much excitement, curiosity, and rich discussion as students made observations, asked questions, and discovered science in action right in our playground! πβ¨
