Our Kindergarten students were very excited to experience their first buddy session with their Year 5 buddies. They spent time getting to know each other, chatting, laughing and working together on a special task that helped our Kindy students share information about who they are and what makes them unique. Well done to our Year 5 students who demonstrated care, kindness and patience when helping their buddies, as we welcome them into our school community 😍

🙏🏼 HOPE IS ALIVE 🌟 On Monday, our Year 6 students joined other schools in Penrith for ENCOUNTER, a formation day led by Australian Catholic musician Gen Bryant. Through music, prayer, storytelling and reflection, students explored what it means to be created in the image and likeness of God and how we show this each day. Our students unpacked Human Dignity, heard powerful stories of courage and hope, reflected on Gospel messages of love, and ended the day reverently with Eucharistic Adoration. A truly special experience that left our Year 6 leaders inspired, uplifted and filled with HOPE as they begin their final year with brave hearts. ♥️

Year 5 kicked off their Science & Tech unit about energy by exploring how energy transforms in everyday electrical items, wondering, testing and discovering what really makes them work. From there, students jumped into hands‑on circuit challenges, working in teams to make a light bulb glow by creating a complete circuit. Once successful, they captured their learning with clear, labelled circuit diagrams. A brilliant start to our energy investigations this term! 🤩

Today Year Three had a very special visitor ...... after reading the text, Mrs Spitzer’s garden, SHE CAME TO VISIT 🤩 It was great to see the surprised and excited faces of the students while they got to ask Mrs Spitzer questions 😃 Students then participated in a Hot Seat session where they took on the character of Mrs Spitzer themselves to practice stepping into the shoes of a character and seeing and feeling things through their eyes. Even the teachers joined in on the fun 😁

Year 5 mathematicians were buzzing this week as they tackled a rich “Split 25” reasoning challenge. 🧠✨ Working in triads, students collaborated to test strategies, debate ideas and justify their thinking as they explored how to break a number into parts to create the largest possible product. The depth of discussion was impressive. The depth of discussion and mathematical reasoning was impressive. In Miss Spencer-Salt’s class, students even extended their thinking by representing repeated multiplication using exponents. The Year 5 teachers are so proud of the grit, curiosity and teamwork on display. Each day the students are showing that by actively listening, sharing ideas, asking questions and explaining our reasoning, we can move our thinking forward together. 💫

Today five of our Year 6 students proudly represented our school at the Project Compassion Launch, joining with other CSPD schools in our shared mission to unite against poverty. It was an inspiring morning that reminded us of the power of compassion, action and hope when young people lead the way. A heartfelt thank you to St Andrew’s College for graciously transporting our students and supporting our involvement in this important initiative. We are grateful for your generosity and partnership. Together, we can make a difference. 💛
