Anzac Day Ceremony
On Friday April 24, the students from St Andrew's primary school gathered in the school hall to remember all the men and women who have been involved in war and all those who are currently serving overseas in peacekeeping operations.
We listened to prayers and reflected on the great sacrifice these men and women gave for their country and for us. We also prayed for the families of those still involved.
The ceremony concluded with a beautiful and moving song, 'Spirit of the Anzacs' by Lee Kernaghan which was accompanied by images of the Anzacs.
Around the hall were posters that the year 6 students had made when researching a soldier from Gallipoli.

The next event, was Cook Up Kindness Day, which was held today. It was an initiative coordinated and lead by our amazing, and dedicated FIAT leaders (Mrs Park and Mrs Hyson). The focus was centred around the importance of how food can nourish the body๐, heart ๐ and soul ๐, as NOTHING says โwe careโ more than a warm meal. However, for over 127,000 Australians, this is a luxury they cannot always afford. Therefore, the St Andrew's staff were invited to join the... "๐ฉโ๐ณCook Up Kindness Day๐ฉโ๐ณ", by preparing a favourite dish, such as soups, pastas, curries, slices, sweet treatsโฆ anything that we loved to make! ๐ฅ๐ฐ ๐ This challenge was taken up by so many!!! where delectable desserts, warm meals, yummy snacks and treats were brought into the staffroom to make a banquet spread of; compassion and love. ๐ At recess and lunch, the Cook Up Kindness Food Stall was opened for all staff to enjoy delicious food as a work meal, or to take home, as dinner for their family. This generosity of food was matched by making a donation. ๐ All funds raised will go directly to Vinnies, supporting those doing it tough. Needless to say the initiative was a HUGE success, with many smiles, laughter and full stomachs, too!๐ Together, we not only raised money to support our school's long-standing partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society, but to also share kindness and hope through the joy of food! ๐
