Speedy runners
On Wednesday September 2, the infants children had their annual sports carnival.
It began with a march to the oval, followed by running races and novelty events.
There was lots of colour, streamers and cheering!
The winning house was Lawson, closely followed by Cook, then Macquarie and Sturt.
A fun day was had by all!

Our library has been a buzz of activity during recess and lunch each day! Students have been enjoying quiet reading, buddy reading, exploring the world through microscopes, playing board games with friends and continuing their learning in a fun and engaging environment. The CSPD Learning Directorate recently visited St Andrewβs Primary School to capture learning in action during InitiaLit lessons. Today, our Year 6 students participated in a Reconciliation Liturgy for National Sorry Day. Together, we took time to acknowledge the history, culture and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, reflecting on the importance of respect, reconciliation and unity. β«οΈπ‘π΄

βοΈπ Amazing Writing in Year 5! πβοΈ Our Year 5 writers have been busy applying their literacy learning to craft engaging and informative factual paragraphs. Using fact files on topics of interest, students identified strong main ideas, selected relevant supporting evidence, and carefully drafted, revised, and edited their work to strengthen their writing. They challenged themselves to write well-structured sentences using technical vocabulary and rich word choices, ensuring their paragraphs not only informed the reader but captured their interest from the very first sentence. We are incredibly proud of the persistence, creativity, and growing confidence our young authors are demonstrating in their Writing Workshops. ππ Keep up the fantastic work, Year 5!

π₯ποΈ Year 1 Celebrates Pentecost! ποΈπ₯ Our Year 1 students have been learning about the significance of Pentecost, exploring how the Holy Spirit came upon Jesusβ disciples and gave them the courage to share Godβs love with the world. As part of their learning, students discovered why Pentecost is known as the birthday of the Church and how we are called to live as Godβs people through unity, love, and faith. Wearing their vibrant flame crowns, Year 1 celebrated the Holy Spirit that lives within each of us, empowering us to spread kindness, joy, and hope in our school and community. π₯ͺπ Serving Our Community with Head, Heart and Hands ππ₯ͺ At St Andrewβs Primary School, our staff proudly come together twice each term to prepare sandwiches for those in need as part of our partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies). This simple yet meaningful act of service supports people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity across our wider Western Sydney community. Through this initiative, our teachers put their faith into action, living out the Gospel call to serve others with compassion, generosity, and kindness. By working in solidarity for those less fortunate, we demonstrate discipleship through our head, heart, and hands, showing that even small acts of care can make a big difference. π Exciting News from St Andrewβs! π Congratulations to Ava from Year 6 Blue, who has been selected to showcase her Lego Diorama MOC (My Own Creation) at this yearβs Sydney BrickBuilt Show on Saturday, 30th May! π§±β¨ Avaβs creative build, designed on a 32 x 32 stud baseplate, was chosen from entries submitted by talented junior builders aged 9β16, highlighting her imagination, storytelling, and building skills. We are incredibly proud of Ava and this wonderful achievement! πππ Families are invited to support Ava and explore the amazing displays at the Sydney BrickBuilt Show. This term, Year 6 have been hard at work, and loving using their whiteboards during learning! π From sharing their great thinking, to recalling prior knowledge, AND practising new skills, this simple addition to our routine has helped make learning more interactive, engaging, and fun for all ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈπ¬ The students love the boards so much, they've even implemented them through a variety of games during wet weather days! The opportunities are endless! π―οΈπ We have loved seeing the increase in student participation, as well as the boosted confidence and collaboration among all of our superstars ππ’
