Speedy runners
On Wednesday September 2, the infants children had their annual sports carnival.
It began with a march to the oval, followed by running races and novelty events.
There was lots of colour, streamers and cheering!
The winning house was Lawson, closely followed by Cook, then Macquarie and Sturt.
A fun day was had by all!

Today Year Three had a very special visitor ...... after reading the text, Mrs Spitzerβs garden, SHE CAME TO VISIT π€© It was great to see the surprised and excited faces of the students while they got to ask Mrs Spitzer questions π Students then participated in a Hot Seat session where they took on the character of Mrs Spitzer themselves to practice stepping into the shoes of a character and seeing and feeling things through their eyes. Even the teachers joined in on the fun π

Year 5 mathematicians were buzzing this week as they tackled a rich βSplit 25β reasoning challenge. π§ β¨ Working in triads, students collaborated to test strategies, debate ideas and justify their thinking as they explored how to break a number into parts to create the largest possible product. The depth of discussion was impressive. The depth of discussion and mathematical reasoning was impressive. In Miss Spencer-Saltβs class, students even extended their thinking by representing repeated multiplication using exponents. The Year 5 teachers are so proud of the grit, curiosity and teamwork on display. Each day the students are showing that by actively listening, sharing ideas, asking questions and explaining our reasoning, we can move our thinking forward together. π«

Today five of our Year 6 students proudly represented our school at the Project Compassion Launch, joining with other CSPD schools in our shared mission to unite against poverty. It was an inspiring morning that reminded us of the power of compassion, action and hope when young people lead the way. A heartfelt thank you to St Andrewβs College for graciously transporting our students and supporting our involvement in this important initiative. We are grateful for your generosity and partnership. Our Stage 3 Year 5 and 6 girls were inspired this week as we welcomed guest speakers from Nagle High School. π The team shared exciting insights into the wide range of academic, sporting and extracurricular opportunities on offer, along with leadership pathways, peer and mentor programs, and a strong focus on nurturing each young woman to flourish and reach her full potential. The Nagle presenters were genuinely impressed by the respect, focus and thoughtful questions from our exceptional students. They even shared that our St Andrewβs ladies would make an outstanding addition to the Nagle High School community. We are so proud of the confidence, curiosity and grace our Year 5 and 6 students continue to demonstrate. The future is bright in Stage 3 at St Andrewβs. π«

Year 1 and Year 2 have launched into the term with energy and enthusiasm at St Andrewβs Primary. π It has been a jam-packed fortnight of rich learning, with students engaging in purposeful on-the-mat and independent activities as they begin their learning journey together. Through thoughtful think-pair-share discussions, our young learners have explored big questions, unpacked new concepts, and worked together to build clear and achievable success criteria. Last week, our Year 6 students gathered for a beautiful Liturgy to begin the school year, reflecting on what it means to lead with respect, kindness and integrity. Each student was anointed as part of our 2026 leadership group, a special milestone as they step into their final year of primary school. After the Liturgy, they spent time journalling in their Soul Journals, exploring the leadership qualities they bring to our community and the goals they hope to achieve this year. We are so proud of the thoughtful, compassionate leaders they are becoming. π
