Speedy runners
On Wednesday September 2, the infants children had their annual sports carnival.
It began with a march to the oval, followed by running races and novelty events.
There was lots of colour, streamers and cheering!
The winning house was Lawson, closely followed by Cook, then Macquarie and Sturt.
A fun day was had by all!

🚶♂️💧 Walk for Water – CARITAS Australia 💧🚶♀️ Today our St Andrew’s community walked in solidarity with the children of Tanzania. Many make the long journey to collect water up to three times a day, often at the cost of their education. By taking part in our Walk for Water Day, we stood together to raise awareness, show compassion, and support CARITAS Australia’s mission to bring clean, safe drinking water to communities in need. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us. Your presence, your steps, and your spirit made a real difference. 💙🌍

🌌✨ Year 5 Planetarium Incursion ✨🌌 On Wednesday 25 March, our Year 5 students experienced an exciting Planetarium Incursion led by Gary Starr, travelling through the universe in a 360° immersive theatre. They explored the wonders and dangers of our Solar System through an engaging space adventure led by “The Great Schiaparelli.” Students also learned about Indigenous Australian astronomy, discovering how Aboriginal cultures interpret the night sky and its connection to life, seasons, and spirituality. It was an inspiring experience that sparked curiosity and deepened their appreciation for both science and culture. 🚀🌠 #StAndrews #Year5 #PlanetariumIncursion

700+ Unite for Project Compassion Big Water Walk
More than 700 students and staff from 23 schools across Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) came together for Caritas Australia’s Big Water Walk in support of Project Compassion. Beginning at Parramatta Park, students carried buckets of water along a 4km route, gaining a glimpse of the daily journey faced by people in developing communities, especially women and children, in search of clean water.

Today we farewelled and gave thanks to Mr Paynter for his 27 years of service to St Andrew’s, marking the end of a remarkable 46-year teaching career 🎓 We gathered as a community to honour his contribution, hearing from students about the memories and lessons they will always carry with them. His service to Catholic education has made a lasting impact on so many ❤️ Joined by his wife Sonya, family and friends, Mr Paynter was celebrated with an assembly and a guard of honour 👏 Mr Paynter’s parting words to our students: Be yourself. 🔌 Year 5 Innovators Bring Circuits to Life! 💡 Year 5 has been busy designing solutions to a real‑world problem using their growing knowledge of electricity and circuits. Working in collaborative teams, students sketched out their ideas, planned their designs and then brought them to life by building a working circuit. Along the way, there was plenty of problem‑solving, testing, adjusting and creative thinking as groups refined their designs to make sure their circuit worked reliably. To showcase their understanding, students filmed their finished products, explaining how their circuit functions and demonstrating the science behind their design. We’re so proud of their teamwork, innovation and clear scientific thinking. What an exciting way to apply learning to the real world! 🤩
